Shadow Reports to CEDAW

States Parties to CEDAW are obliged to submit periodic reports to CEDAW Committee. NGOs can also participate in this process of CEDAW reporting and monitoring.

By submitting their own reports to the Committee, NGOs can help CEDAW Committee to identify issue s of women's right which may not be presented in country reports by States Parties, and to assess the validity of the reports submitted by States Parties.
